EMPOWERING people, particularly men, to challenge poor attitudes and change behaviours towards women, is “at the heart of a new strategy” to tackle Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), launched on Tuesday (June 6).
Police and Crime Commissioner Kim McGuinness set a series of priorities and actions for her office, saying they will “tackle the root causes of VAWG”.
The new policy will include investing in a raft of prevention and intervention work as part of determined efforts to make the North East “safer for all”.
